The Franklin Cotton Poplin Shirt, designed to look like you pinched it from his wardrobe, but we've tailored it to fit you. It’s the shirt every woman needs in her wardrobe.

A classic, shirt you can easily dress up or dress down. We use a mid-weight cotton, 130 gsm to be precise. Basically, a Goldilocks weight – not too heavy and not too light – this one’s just right. Just enough length in the back to make it flattering and comfortable (this is basically a fashion miracle, if we do say so ourselves). And it's ideal for the half-tuck — which we love – or tied into a knot.

This spring/summer we've cropped the sleeve ever so slightly for summer ease, great for sun protection at the beach or out and about.

It also makes it perfect to show off the cuff monogram if that's your thing.

Like most great things, necessity was the mother of invention. Our founder, Vic, wanted a shirt. For her. That was (in the words of Goldilocks) just right. You’d think that would be simple, but she kept pinching Sam’s to get the right fit. Despite having worked for some of the best designers in the world — Ralph Lauren and Tory Burch — in New York, she had a gap in her basics.

She wanted a shirt that felt perfectly worn in day one, but got better with age. A style that was easy, but classic. Something she could pull straight off the line or out of a suitcase and throw on. Something that looked as good tucked into a ball gown as boyfriend jeans.

We make shirts that are easy to wear and last a lifetime.  We believe everyone needs a classic white shirt in their closet. Army green is the best colour. Ever. Navy’s up there too. We also have a healthy stripe addiction.

At Irving & Powell we keep the tailoring simple and the fabrics natural. Colour is key. Great style should never look too much like hard work... we put in the hard yards, so you look effortless.
